Position description
Foster360 Overview
Foster360 is dedicated to supporting young adults (ages 18-24) who have transitioned out of the foster care system. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services, resources, and mentorship to help these individuals achieve independence, stability, and success in their adult lives. We offer housing assistance, educational support, career development, mental health services, and life skills training in a trauma-informed and neuro-relational environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization's mission
- Foster a trauma-informed organizational culture centered on youth empowerment
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish policies and organizational priorities
- Ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability through sound financial management
- Oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation
Program Development & Oversight
- Develop a core curriculum that addresses the general needs of the clients in partnership with Foster360’s partners, including life skills, neuro-relational coaching, and trauma resiliency.
- Ensure all programs meet the unique needs of the clients through trauma-informed approaches
- Stay current on best practices and research regarding foster youth transitions
Staff Management & Development
- Recruit, train, and retain qualified staff with experience in trauma-informed youth services
- Provide regular supervision, professional development, and mentorship to staff
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback
Financial Management & Fundraising
- In collaboration with the Azura Financial Office, develop and manage annual budgets with approval from the Azura board
- Work with the Azura grant writer on grant applications, reporting, and compliance
- Build relationships with donors and funding sources
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities
- Ensure fiscal transparency and accountability
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Represent the organization in the community and with stakeholders
- Build partnerships with child welfare agencies, educational institutions, employers, and housing providers
- Develop collaborative relationships with other service providers
- Advocate for policies benefiting former foster youth
- Increase community awareness of former foster youth needs and capabilities
Case Management
- Create a case management system for all clients in the program that is tailored to each individual client, which includes:
- Academic Advising
- Traumatic Brain Injury treatment
- Counseling Services
- Create pathways for youth leadership within the organization
- Model positive, supportive relationships with program participants
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of nonprofit leadership experience, including staff supervision
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed approaches
- Experience working with foster youth or similar populations
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Knowledge of child welfare systems and relevant policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- Personal and/or professional experience with the foster care system
- Experience as Executive Director or senior leadership in a similar organization
- Knowledge of local community resources and partner organizations
- Background in program development and evaluation
- Understanding of mental health needs related to trauma and attachment
- Experience in advocacy and systems change
