Position description
MicroCare Community Development Solutions (MicroCare) is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Prrogram Coordinator to support community engagement, digital outreach, grants and program promotion. This role is instrumental in expanding MicroCare’s visibility and impact through strategic communications, social media, and event coordination. Ideal candidates will have a passion for community development, small business support, and inclusive economic opportunities.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), hybrid position reporting to MicroCare’s senior leadership. The role is ideal for early- to mid-career professionals with experience in outreach, communications, or community development.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Program Support - 30%
- Coordinate and schedule financial literacy workshops and community events (virtual and in-person)
- Organize business site visits and small marketplace events
- Develop and manage a pool of volunteers and workshop participants
Content Development & Communications - 15%
- Draft and distribute a quarterly MicroCare newsletter and program highlights
- Manage and update social media platforms with engaging and mission-driven content
- Implement strategies to grow audience reach and engagement across platforms
Research & Outreach - 15%
- Conduct topic-based research related to grants, small business development, financial education, and microloans
- Support partnership development by reaching out to community organizations, small businesses, and resource partners.
- Data entry into the loan management and finance systems, when needed.
Grant & Time Management - 30%
- Monitor and report grant announcements with minimal supervision.
- Report summary of open grants, deadlines while maintaining calendar with these announcement.

Compensation
- Hourly wage based on experience (FT- Non-exempt)
- This position would be eligible for benefits in the future.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economic Development, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and basic video editing software
- Familiarity with social media tools (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in grant search, small business support, financial literacy, and underserved communities
- Previous experience in outreach, communications, or nonprofit/community engagement is preferred
