JOB SUMMARY: The Marketing Manager for Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS), will be responsible for creating and executing campaigns that target potential donors through direct mail and digital marketing. This role ensures campaigns are creative, persuasive, and connects people to CCCS’ mission. Primary responsibilities will include developing print and digital marketing plans, designing and writing marketing materials, managing mailing lists, and analyzing campaign results. The Marketing Manager will measure campaign effectiveness with metrics like response rates and ROI. This position will work closely with the Philanthropy & Database team to develop effective targeting and segmentation strategies, be the primary lead with our external direct mail agency, partner with graphic designers, and collaborate with fellow marketing colleagues on social media and website initiatives. A successful Marketing Manager will be creative, detail-oriented, and analytical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop and manage campaigns to increase new donor acquisition, donor retention, recurring giving, and decrease lapsed donors.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to execute campaigns in alignment with the overall marketing strategy.
- Create engaging direct mail and digital marketing campaigns to inspire donor giving, educate donors about our programs, and engage them in our mission.
- In collaboration with Philanthropy/Database team and direct marketing vendor, identify best practices & opportunities for capacity building and growth, identifying solicitation segmentation strategies to increase annual giving.
- Analyze and interpret direct mail response rates and ROI to optimize future campaigns.
- Test and evaluate direct marketing formats, offers, ask amounts, and creative components to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Manage the relationship with our direct marketing vendor, or other graphic designers, leading the day-to-day implementation plan for the direct marketing program.
- Lead the creative storytelling and delivery of on-going e-mail messages to our donors, and write occasional blogs for web content.
- Conducts phone, video, or in-person interviews to solicit information from clients, volunteers, and staff members to create compelling stories to drive agency strategies.
- Manage expenses and budget in relation to campaigns.
- Monitor direct marketing industry trends and best practice to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g. administration, programs, volunteers, etc.), community partners and stakeholders to execute and expand successful annual giving initiatives.
- Promote agency brand consistently and voice across all platforms (e.g. annual giving, direct mail, digital presence, collateral, social media, etc.)
- Assist Director of Marketing and Communications with video, media relations, marketing materials as needed.
- Supervise and manage assigned staff in accordance with agency personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc. Participate in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintain comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external).
- Provide a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions including finance and budgetary responsibilities, information systems integration, grievance/complaint resolution.
- Model professional standards and ethics in accordance with agency philosophy.
- Participates in and supports Continuous Improvement initiatives to include attending appropriate program leadership meetings and attending all relevant Continuous Improvement meetings to ensure organization-wide involvement in Continuous Improvement and the development of program performance measurements. Supervisors must also develop and provide appropriate staff training and support the recognition of accomplishments relative to Continuous Improvement.
- Promotes ongoing commitment to excellence and continual quality improvement to ensure the highest quality of services to our staff and clients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Education /Background: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Development or related field and at least five (5) years of marketing, direct mail, fundraising, communications and management experience.
- Job Knowledge: Must be a positive, enthusiastic self-starter, highly organized, able to work with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization; possess superior written and oral communication skills, ability to prioritize, multitask and work on tight deadlines with limited supervision. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office products; experience with fundraising software (Raiser’s Edge NXT), email platforms, and design tools (such as Canva) is a plus.
- Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory interact with clients and staff. Requires considerable work outside of the office and some travel within the state. Requires some evening and weekend work on occasion. May lift up to 25 pounds.
- Other requirements:
- Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to show proof of registration/insurance.
- Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance.
- You must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities.
This is a salaried position starting at $65,000 annually and may increase depending on experience.
This position is hybrid with occasional meetings in person.
