The Development Assistant will provide exceptional customer service and administrative support to the Development team at the Arizona Humane Society. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate donor records, processing donations, and supporting special activities and events. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • At least one year of administrative or relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
  • Impeccable customer service skills with internal and external customers. Must be comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills; must be able to work well under pressure and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Handle department calls and email inquiries related to donor accounts, donations, and acknowledgments.
  • Sort, code, and process incoming donations. Accurately enter gifts into the database, log batches, and maintain audit files.
  • Perform data entry of donor information, including address changes, name corrections, and solicitation codes.
  • Manage the entry of in-kind gifts into the database, ensuring proper coding for audit purposes.
  • Assist with tribute gifts as needed, including generating donor acknowledgment letters and the appropriate honor/memorial acknowledgment cards and providing customer service for tributes.
  • Support our monthly donor and new donor stewardship programs as needed with calls or other donor outreach.
  • Generate, print, proof, and mail gift acknowledgment letters.
  • Provide administrative support to the entire Development team as needed.
  • Assist with events and special projects for the Development department, including mailings, data entry, event setup, and support.
