Our mission is to inspire, encourage and create hope in women and their families that enable  them to rebuild their lives, end the cycle of incarceration and become valued members of  society.

Board Member responsibilities include:

Leadership, governance and oversight

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director through development and  implementation of Hope's Crossing strategic plan
  • Reviewing outcomes and metrics created by Hope's Crossing for evaluating its impact, and  regularly measuring its performance and effectiveness using those metrics.
  • Participate in the development and approval of Hope's Crossing annual budget.
  • Ensuring  compliance of all legal and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Representing Hope's Crossing to stakeholders; serving as an ambassador for the  organization.
  •  Assisting in the recruitment and development of new Board Members.
  • Serving on at least one Committee, task force and special assignments.

Fundraising

  • Board Member will consider Hope's Crossing a philanthropic priority and make annual gifts reflecting that priority.
  • Implement personal outreach goals to cultivate donors, sponsors and  community partners to support annual fundraising goals and organizational  sustainability.

Board Members will serve a two-year term and are eligible for re-appointment for one additional  term.

  • A natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading,  convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of Hope's  Crossing beneficiaries.
  • Understanding of the development and implementation of organizational budgets and  fiscal responsibility.
  • Enthusiasm to work with Hope’s Crossing as the organization grows to the next level through fundraising  and engagement with the community.
