Position description
Development Director
Help grow the impact of a mission that matters.
At Imprints of Honor, we believe service leaves a lasting legacy. Our mission honors veterans and empowers students through character and civic education. Our after-school program develops student leadership, confidence, character, and 21st century skills, while preserving veterans’ legacies. We are seeking a strategic and passionate Development Director to join our leadership team and help us expand the reach and sustainability of our work.
Why Join Us?
This is more than a fundraising role—it’s a chance to be part of something meaningful. You'll collaborate closely with our Executive Director and a dedicated team to lead fundraising strategy, steward lasting donor relationships, and shape a culture of philanthropy that fuels real change. We invest in our people, offering professional development through the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
As Development Director, you’ll lead a dynamic and integrated fundraising program. Your role will include:
- Designing and executing an annual fundraising plan with clear goals, strategies, and timelines.
- Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts of all sizes, including major and planned gifts.
- Managing annual giving campaigns, donor recognition efforts, and our Legacy Society.
- Providing leadership to our special events manager and grant consultant.
- Partnering with the Executive Director to build strong philanthropic relationships.
- Ensuring accurate donor data management and acknowledgment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required to drive continuous improvement in donor engagement, retention, and giving outcomes.
Qualifications
What You Bring
We’re looking for a relationship-builder with a strategic mind and a heart for mission:
- 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; CFRE preferred.
- A successful track record in major gift cultivation and stewardship.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills.
- Comfort with donor databases (Salesforce), Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Constant Contact.
- A collaborative spirit and genuine belief in our mission.
