Position Overview
The Arizona Humane Society’s (“AHS”) Development Project Manager is a key leader on the Development Team, acting as the point of contact between the Development Team and internal partners on the Marketing and Program Teams. Focused on specific projects, donor communications and post-award grant and restricted gift management, the Development Project Manager is expected to keep deliverables on time, within budget, within scope; track impact; and build productive working relationships with peer managers to achieve fundraising objectives and revenue.
Essential Functions
Donor Marketing and Communications Project Management (60%)
- Employing a high level of understanding and confidence in donor-centric communication – written, verbal and through the use of impact metrics and mission storytelling – the Development Project Manager will partner with Development Managers and the Marketing Account Manager to:
- Gather full range of donor communication and stewardship collateral, publications, speaking points, email marketing and signage needs from Development.
- Ensure on-brand, donor-centric messaging consistent throughout a wide platform of communication and stewardship tools for both current donors and prospective donors.
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, approval processes and budgets; and track project deliverables and milestones while providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Develop promotional plans for projects and initiatives including marketing, advertising and logistical support.
- Identify potential challenges, risks or changes, and communicate/problem-solve proactively to move objectives forward with flexibility and creativity.
Post-Award Grant and Restricted Gift Management (40%)
- Prepare grant applications and solicitations by gathering and analyzing program data, creating supporting materials and developing project budgets.
- Submit grant applications and solicitations finalized by the Grant Writer.
- Collect impact stories from program managers on an as-needed basis.
- Prepare and submit reports required for grants with a total award of $5,000 or less.
- Partner with the Grant Writer to develop and submit reports required for grants with a total award over $5,000.
- Process incoming restricted donations and awards.
- Track the use of restricted donations and awards against budget in collaboration with program managers and the accounting team, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. Three (3) or more years of nonprofit fundraising, marketing and/or project management experience required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Experience in Luminate Online and Asana a plus.
- Ability to read and understand financial statements including budgets and P&L statements required. Proficiency in Budgyt or comparable financial software preferred.
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge fundraising database, comparable donor database software or CRM preferred.
- High level of focus, organization and time management in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- High level attention to detail, thoroughness and follow-through.
