Job title: Senior Manager, Brand + Communications
The Senior Manager, Brand + Communications reports to the Chief Development Officer and works directly with the agency’s senior leadership team including the CEO, department directors, program managers and the Board of Directors. The position supervises two full-time employees, which includes a Manager, Community Outreach and Coordinator, Brand Content + Design—as well as advertising, communications, and public relations agency partners.
In this role, you will:
- Strategize and create messaging and design concepts for media relations outreach, email marketing, direct mail campaigns, social media engagement, program marketing materials, and fundraising events.
- Brand management for Southwest Human Development, Easterseals Southwest Human Development, and Educare Arizona.
- Use a vast mix of channels to increase awareness of the agency and its programs and services.
- Manage and work with marcom agency partners on projects and initiatives.
- Consult and advise agency leaders on marcom-related efforts and activities.
- Intermediate WordPress website management.
- Sourcing and designing branded promotional materials.
- Develop strategic community outreach initiatives in partnership with agency staff.
- Monitoring news media and early childhood news and resources.
- Collaborate with Easterseals and Educare national network partners.
- Other communications work as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field.
- Five or more years of experience in communications, public relations or marketing.
- Strategic and open mindset with the capability of engaging in deep business and marketing-related discussions with senior management.
- Ability to quickly learn new marketing technologies and promotional channels to determine the best outbound marketing strategies.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on building cross functional relationships.
- Passion and ability to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, solid judgment, and accustomed to working with a sense of urgency.
- A team player, with a service mentality and a focus on “we”, not “me.”
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic communications plan.
- Excellent written, AP style preferred, verbal communications skills, and strong presentation skills.
- Knowledge of the Arizona nonprofit and business community; early childhood preferred.
