Position description
United Cerebral Palsy of Central AZ is a a non-profit organization who's mission is to is to empower and strengthen the independence of people with disabilities and developmental delays. We are currently seeking individuals with non-profit experience to join our Development team as a part-time Development Specialist.
This part-time position will manage and oversee the multi-functional efforts within the Development department. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the overall daily tasks of development administration and donor system management. This position will also manage the volunteer program, special event administration, and support.
Essential Responsibilities:
Development Operations Management
- Perform development administrator functions to oversee day-to-day operational functions within the department
- Manage the donor CRM database and ensure accurate entries and reporting in the system
- Prepare and send tax receipts/acknowledgment letters for gifts made via check or ACH deposit (all website donations receive automatic letters) and annual donor-giving letter
Individual Donor Management

- Assists in content development for fundraising appeals and donor communications
- Steward and cultivate donor relationships with existing and new prospects
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of basic development functions
- Works with the Vice President of Marketing & Development to identify and implement new strategies to enhance employee giving, carry out an employee-giving annual campaign, and ongoing, year-round giving efforts to increase further the financial success of UCP of Central Arizona
Corporate Donations/Sponsorships & Grants
- Track all corporate donations/sponsorships and grants in the donor CRM database
- Send acknowledgment letters for grants and corporate gifts/sponsorships
Volunteer Program Management
- Coordinate volunteer activity, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and placing volunteers in appropriate positions in programs
- Maintain all volunteer files
- Coordinate and supervise all volunteer activity at all events (fundraising & family)
- Periodically attends staff meetings in other departments to discuss needs and resources
- Participate in community events/fairs/activities to generate awareness of volunteer opportunities, as needed
Qualifications
- Must have a valid AZ driver’s license.
- Must be able to attend events with no assistance.
- Expected hours: 25 per week
Experience
- Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Non-Profit marketing: 1 year (Preferred)
