Ed and Betty Rugis Family Scholarship

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to assist an outstanding student who has demonstrated leadership in community service with expenses associated with completing his/her internship and the transition from being a student to a nonprofit professional. The scholarship was established in 2015 by Lanette Rugis to honor her mother and father.

Award: A cash award provided annually by alumna Lanette Rugis and is dependent upon annual ASU Foundation earnings and eligible payout amount.

Criteria: Student selected must:

  1. Be a Nonprofit Leadership Alliance undergraduate student in good standing (application on file) successfully enrolled in the program at ASU during the spring semester and pursuing Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification (Certified Nonprofit Professional).
  2. Be completing their internship in spring, summer or fall 2024.
  3. Have demonstrated community service leadership.

Selection: In accordance with the wishes of the donor, the selection of the student recipient of this scholarship is made by a scholarship committee consisting of faculty, alumni and community members. Nominations of qualifying students may be made by faculty/staff of the program.

Deadline: All applications are due March 15, 2024, by 11:59 p.m.
