Are you a cause-orientated individual who enjoys working on behalf of children, helping them realize their potential and equipping them to succeed? Do you want a job that is meaningful, challenging, gratifying, and allows you the opportunity to impact tens of thousands of kids each year? Do you believe that through education we can break cycles of poverty and help children to own their future?

Working for Junior Achievement is all that and more. Join us as we empower the future.

Come join an amazing team of passionate people! For over 65 years, Junior Achievement has been shaping the future by giving Arizona’s youth the skills needed to succeed in work and life. We care about the work we do and the people we do it alongside. As a team, we go the extra mile and are committed to preparing students to succeed!

We are looking for a new member to join our team that has a natural ability to adapt, problem-solve, and work well within a team. You’ll work part-time (average 24 hrs/wk) helping the team to coordinate with educational programs and special events. You’ll be comfortable speaking to groups, directing volunteers, and juggling multiple tasks. You understand the tasks for the day as well as your schedule needs to be flexible and interruptions don’t derail you. You can remain organized and have impeccable follow up even when dealing with various fires. This position will focus on helping with events logistics as well as 2 of our educational programs that work closely with events. We’ll want you to think big, we’ll want you to think small, and sometimes we’ll just want you to do it. Some days are a breeze, some days are a little harder; every day you and your teammates will be changing lives.

Qualifications

  • Your attitude toward work, youth, your co-workers and the people you come in contact with through our programs and events are first class. Even in the most trying of times, you maintain a positive attitude, and you don’t believe in impossible.

  • Ability to perform, organize, and prioritize multi-level tasks in a fast-paced environment while dealing with interruptions.

  • You are game to jump in and help whenever and however needed. When fires break out, everybody grabs a bucket, from the dogs (yes, we have dogs visiting our office!) to our President!

  • Use of personal vehicle to pick up, drop off, or haul event items is required (mileage reimbursement is based on IRS standards)

  • You are a great juggler with fantastic follow through. No detail is too small or too big, each part is important to the big picture/experience.

  • We live in a technology world and you are comfortable working in, trouble shooting, and learning new software. Microsoft office proficiency is a MUST. Some data entry and tracking will be required. This position maintains all printed collateral as well as updating online documents.

  • MUST be comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups. Can you project your voice and take charge when needed? Networking amongst new people does not intimidate you.  You understand we are all ambassadors for the mission and are excited to talk about JA and to help grow it in the community.

  • You have strong communication and provide exceptional customer service and communications internally and externally.

  • You can keep organized and on top of long and short range goals and tasks.

  • Team oriented. We all succeed together!

  • Hybrid work environment available. Some days in office or onsite location required. Work schedule will need to be flexible around the needs of the position.

  • Week of or week prior to a major event (5-6 times/year) will require more hours than the standard. Weekend work would occasionally be needed.

  • Good working personal vehicle required for Metro area traveling, including the delivery or pick up of auction donations, event or program materials when needed, moving large amounts of event materials to and from location. Minimum ability to lift and carry 40lbs. required.  Mileage reimbursement based on IRS guidelines.

  • This position will help prep event materials as well as reorganize and put them away after events. This may require lifting heavy items onto shelving units.

  • Due to our work with children, all employees must pass a background check. This position will work directly with students several times a year, there is a small level of coaching involved.
