Position description
The Development and External Affairs Manager (‘Manager”) will be the strategic leader for all fundraising activities. The Manager will oversee major gift fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship, grant writing and reporting, and database management. This role is part of the Justa Center leadership team and is a new position. The Executive Director will work closely with the Manager on strategy execution.
Position Scope of Responsibilities
- Create a high-level fundraising strategy tailored to Justa Center’s mission and goal to expand the individual and institutional donor bases.
- Identify new grant opportunities.
- Write compelling grant applications for new and existing institutional donors.
- Manage Justa Center’s donor database, Keela.
- Comply with the reporting requirements of grants.
- Represent Justa Center at select community events and meetings.
- Work with the Executive Director to deepen community relationships including forging new service provider partnerships for better serving our members.
Team & Administrative Responsibilities
- Produce Keela donor reports as requested by the Executive Director, Controller, and Justa Center’s Board of Directors.
- Engage regularly with Justa Center’s front line staff to ensure understanding of organizational activities, funding gaps, and member challenges.
- Other duties as assigned such as conducting day center tours for donors and community partners.
Qualifications
Experience
- Three plus years in non-profit development and fundraising, preferably in social services, with a history of securing major gifts, new donor cultivation, and donor database management.
- Comfort with developing grant budgets with oversight from the Executive Director.
- Familiarity with restricted and reimbursable grant tracking, a plus.
