Who We Are:
The Steele Foundation is a private foundation located in Phoenix, AZ. Our mission is to improve the lives of Arizona’s children through investments in education. We partner with nonprofit organizations who demonstrate strong outcomes for kids and are looking to innovate or experiment with a new idea. In addition to funding quality education with a traditional approach, we seek to fund an array of cultural education programs as well.
Position Overview:
The Steele Foundation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office Assistant Intern to join our team for the Spring 2025 semester. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector. The intern will work closely with the President/CEO on scheduling as well as various office projects, this intern will also work with the Program Director on the grant-making cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Job-shadow the Executive Assistant to gain full understanding of administrative support.
- Work with the President/CEO to schedule meetings and on various office duties.
- Administrative oversight responsibilities, such as record keeping, scanning, filing, correspondence and meeting coordination.
- Job-shadow the Program Director to gain a comprehensive understanding of the granting cycle, from selecting grantees, to reviewing applications, to offering grants all the way through the reporting and follow-up process.
Commitment:
- January 13th – end of May
- Weekly in-office commitment of 10-15 hours per week. Note: this is not a remote position.
- Internship hours can be split across multiple days per work week or concentrated into a few days per week.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate as a Junior or Senior or graduate program.
- Excellent time management, organization, written, proof reading and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks and manage a diverse administrative workload efficiently and independently.
- Clean background check.
- Must possess a valid driver license and means of transportation.
- Microsoft Office 365 proficient (Outlook, word, excel, powerpoint, publisher, teams.etc.).
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
